STATE STREET UNITED METHODIST CHURCH

Traditional Worship Services

Traditional services are offered at 8:45 AM and at 11:00 AM.

EARLY MORNING SERVICE

This 8:45 AM service is held in the chapel, an intimate space adorned with stained glass windows from the church's original location on State Street.  It is a traditional service with a definite "small church" feel. There is no choir.

LATE MORNING SERVICE

The 11:00 AM traditional worship service is held in the spacious sanctuary.  The music is outstanding, and is provided by the Chancel Choir and organ, and often accompanied by horn and percussion. The handbell choir and special soloists also add to this fine atmosphere.

Other services: Contemporary Service (8:45 AM)

Children in Worship

We believe the Gospel is for persons of all ages and we welcome children in all our worship services.  Families with children are encouraged to sit close to the front of the sanctuary so children feel more included in the worship experience.  Worship booklets, “Parenting in the Pew” tips and children’s booklets are available in the narthex and from the ushers. A nursery is also provided for infants and children age three and under.

A short Time for Children is offered each Sunday - with the exception of Communion Sundays.  Immediately following Time for Children, children ages four through third grade are invited to Godly Play Children’s Worship, held in the Godly Play room on the main floor.  Fourth thru sixth graders are invited to worship in the sanctuary with their families.
