State Street United Methodist Church supports the following outreach activities (contacts):
COMMUNITY SERVICE
- F.I.S.H. Club - outreach ministry to children in our community on Wednesday nights. Bus transportation is provided. (Jaymie Derden)
- Project Crossroads - rebuilding homes in southwest VA (Harry Howe)
- Bristol Faith In Action - ecumenical outreach, including emergency financial assistance, to those in need within the Bristol community
- Haven of Rest - homeless shelter in Bristol
- Abuse Alternatives - ensuring that women and children have safe shelter within the Bristol community
- Hospice House - providing a caring environment for end-of-life challenges (Patty Kilbreath)
- Holston Habitat for Humanity - building homes for families in association with other churches
- Bridge Refugee Services - finding new lives and homes for those new to the United States
- Crossroads Medical Mission - providing free primary medical care to the underserved via a mobile clinic based at State Street UMC
- Healing Hands Clinic - providing medical and dental care to the working poor in the Bristol area
- Soup Kitchen Program - serving meals to the hungry 5 days a week (Charles & Roxann Coulthard)
- St. Andrew Potato Project
- Bristol Emergency Food Pantry - providing food to those in need in the Bristol community
- Meal On Wheels - delivering to the homebound in the Bristol community (Emily Kausch, 423-989-3265 or Lois Crockett, 423-764-2298)
CONGREGATIONAL SUPPORT
- Patty Kilbreath, Parish Nurse - providing education, screenings, and care to members of the congregation
- We Care Committee - keeping members who cannot attend church in our thoughts (Joyce & Sid Oakley)
- Visitation Program - visiting our homebound members members, or forward cards when a visit is not desired (Sid & Joyce Oakley)
- Telephone Call Program - contact members to inquire about their welfare (Nina Decker)
- First Monday Communion Program - first Monday at Grand Court, an assisted living facility (Evelyn Gordon)
- Volunteers In Action - providing services to the disabled, elderly and others who need help (visiting, telephone contact, shopping & other errands, transportation, yard work, and minor house repair)
- First Sunday Greeting Card - cards signed by Sunday School attendees sent monthly to homebound members (Ron & Lois Crockett)
- Communion - assisting the Pastors in serving communion (Rev. Shell)
- Prayer Chain - Wednesday morning prayer group meeting (church office)
- Wellmont's Intensive Prayer Unit - intercessory prayer for those in need (Patty Kilbreath)

- Costa Rica - building churches and fellowship in association with other Abingdon District UMC congregations.
