John Wesley / June 2003
During this rotation our children learned about the founder of our denomination, John Wesley. We focused on several of Mr. Wesley's life experiences, including his family life, his escape from the burning house as a child, his trip to Georgia, his heart-warming experience at Aldersgate, his prison ministries and the development of circuit riders.
Mary and Martha / November 2002
During this rotation, our children learned about Jesus' friends, Mary and Martha and their brother, Lazarus. They focused on Jesus' visit to Bethany during the Feast of Tabernacles. They focused on hospitality. How did Mary show hospitality? How about Martha? They learned that Jesus teaches the importance of living a balanced Christian life, one which includes worshiping God and serving others.
Abraham and Sarah / October 2002
During this rotation, our children learned about Abraham and Sarah. They learned of God's call to Abraham, his promises to him -- to give him land and descendants. They learned about obedience and patience and saw how Abraham's character was developed over many years. They explored the meaning of covenant. And finally, they saw God's fulfillment of his promise in the birth of Isaac -- the child of laughter.
Bible Blast Off 2002 / September 2002
During this rotation, our children examined the Bible. They looked at the Bible in several ways: as the inspired Word of God, as an instruction manual for life, as a library of smaller books which tells one story of God's love and purpose for the world, and as the Word of our awesome and amazing Creator who desires a relationship with us.
The Temptation of Jesus! / February-March 2002
During this rotation, our children learned about Jesus as he was driven into the desert to face temptation. How did Jesus respond to this trying time? What can we learn from his response that will help us as we face temptation?
