OVERVIEW: Jesus gave His life for us!

Scripture References: Gospel accounts of Jesus death and resurrection, John 3:16

Memory Verse: "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16

Theme: Jesus gave his life for us. We respond to His love by giving to others: families, church and community.

Objectives and Life Application:

• Children will understand that Jesus gave his life for the world.
• Children will understand what sin is.
• Children will understand that everyone sins.
• Children will understand that we are given a promise of eternal life with God when we believe in Jesus and repent of our sins.
• Children will understand that Jesus wants us to love others. We can show this by giving to them.
• Children will become familiar with the story of Jesus' death and resurrection.
• Children will memorize John 3:16

Overview of the Workshops:

Music: Music can be played during activities or used if you have extra time at the end of a workshop. John 3:16 set to music (New Invitation cassette tape)

Raiders of the Lost Art: Children will create mosaic stepping stones to use in the church prayer garden. (Giving to church)

HolyWord Theatre: Children will also create "Mother's Day Hats" for their mothers to "buy" and wear on Mother's Day. $ for Heifer Project Mission. Children will view a video of the crucifixion and resurrection. (Giving to families and others)

Bible Quest: Children will participate in review games.
