Rev. Mark Hicks

Mark joined the SSUMC staff as associate pastor in June 2010. He has pastored within the United Methodist Church since 1999, having most recently come from an appointment in the Morristown District at Chestnut Grove and Ebenezer UMCs.

He holds degrees from Hiwassee College, Carson Newman, Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and the University of Tennessee. His past experiences include work as a youth minister, church music director, and counselor.

He currently serves as the Conference Coordinator and Team Leader for the Holston Conference Disaster Response Team.

In November 2010 he married Heather Cook of Knoxville. She and her sons, Rhett, Keeley, and Payton, will be relocating to Bristol in late December.

Mark enjoys music, hiking, skiing, traveling, and martial arts.
